Bridport Hat Festival has crept up on me, I have quite a few hats but, they are like shoes, you can never have too many! So this month I have been spending every spare moment making more stock and trying out some new ideas and developing some old favourites with a new twist…

Do you think I should leave this one white / cream or dye it? It feels quite anaemic sat next to all the others but maybe it is good to offer some neutral options for sale?
“Haturday” starts at 10 am Saturday 1st September 2018 in Bridport, Hampshire, UK. Check out this link for more information. If you are in the area please pay us a visit, its a free event with lots of live music and entertainment and of course I can be found with the International Feltmakers Association in the Arts Centre behind the main stage. Why not pay us a visit, try on a few hats for fun and have a giggle? π
The white/cream is beautiful – not everyone wants a colourful hat so it would be good to have this in your collection. It would make a good wedding hat!
Good luck on Haturday. You have a varied collection – something for everyone so your lovely hats will attract a lot of attention, and hopefully a lot of sales.
Thank you ladies, I hope they get lots of attention, it is always great fun watching people try hats on and if some of the sell, what a bonus! π
Wow, what a great collection of fun hats! I agree with Lyn, leave the cream neutral, not everyone is adventurous. Good luck on Haturday! I look forward to hearing how it goes,
Good advice (and less work for me π ) thank you all, the cream hat will stay cream, for now at least π
Great hats Teri! I am interested to know if the hat sells in cream. I haven’t had much luck over the years at the store selling wearables in that color either white or cream. But perhaps you will find the perfect person for it π If not, I would suggest greys to black. Still neutral but everyone wears black.
Thanks Ruth, great idea to dye it grey/black! I took an eco-printing workshop with Kim Winter from Flextiles yesterday so of course now I am looking at the white hat (and a few other pieces) thinking, can I eco-print on that…? Thinking I will give the eco-printing a whirl and if that does not work, fish out the black acid-fast dye! π
Love the hat I bought today at Haturday. Thank you for being so creative. Can’t wait to wear it and turn heads in Sidmouth!
You don’t have a picture of the hat in your gallery so please feel free to add the photo you took of me wearing it. Happy hat making!
Thank you Avril, I am so pleased one of my hats found you π I confess a few of my hats found their forever homes in Bridport so am not sure which one you purchased, can you describe it for me please?
