Join us as we learn how to make a vessel from felted wool. I will explain how to lay out fibre and share several ways you can decorate your pod with silk hankies and other fibres. Learn how to full (firmly felt) and shape your vessel so the felt is sturdy and keeps its shape.
This class is hosted in collaboration with Deaf Aotearoa who will be providing a Sign Language interpreter but the class is open everyone (you don’t need to be fluent in NZSL!).
Class fee includes wool and silks to make and decorate your pod, as well as use of felting equipment.
This class is for adults and suitable for beginners.
When: 5pm – 9pm, Friday 16th Aug 2024
Where: The Old School Building, Greenhithe, nr Auckland.

Please bring:
- two towels (a small tea towel or hand towel size and a larger towel approx 1 metre long)
- a small to medium sized pair of sharp, pointy scissors, you will need to push the pointy blade through the felt (scissors with rounded tips are difficult to use)
- a plastic bag to take your damp felt and towels home in
- pencil and paper if you like to take notes
- a waterproof apron if you have one (optional)
- some snacks if you think you might get hungry (tea and coffee will be provided)

I will have a small selection of tools and materials available to purchase for class participants, let me know at least 24 hours before the class if there is something you would like in my Etsy shop to receive a minimum 10% discount.
